This my cousin in one of the t-shirts that my town helped make for her. Her name is Mary, and she is just like any other child. She has two younger siblings who are a bother to her and loves to play softball on her team where they would travel before she had to quit. She loves Justin Bieber and Taylor Swift, and she is just like any other preteen girl. There’s just one thing that separates my beautiful cousin from most of the population however. She has stage four Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Ewing Sarcoma develops mostly when the child is going through puberty when the bones are growing rapidly. It is a tumor that usually effects boys, and you have a one in three million chance of getting it. My cousin was just one of the lucky, huh? Currently, she has it in her leg. She is doing very aggressive Chemotherapy and radiation treatments which is why she had to shave her head when she started to lose her hair. With the treatments, she goes home for a week and back at the hospital the next week. If and when she lives through this cancer, she will have to have metal put into her body to replace where the tumor has eaten away. Most likely, her entire pelvic area will be replaced with a metal one. I know that people do these posts a lot, but this girl has so much heart and is so strong that I envy her. I feel like she needs to see how many people around the world care for her, not just the people in our home town. So if you could just take the few seconds out of your day to reblog this, it would be very much appreciated. It truly would. Thank you so much for reading and reblogging this if you do.
